Creating Christian music that sounds very much not like Christian music is what Echelon High is all about. Passionate about both music and God pushes the band to use His gift of music to honor Him with an edgy, eye opening style not often heard in the Christian realm. Andrew Kelly, founding member, finds the musical influences that help shape the sound of Echelon High in a variety of worldwide bands such as Outsource, And One, Celldweller, Circle of Dust, and Zeromancer, showing he isn't scared to look outside the Christian music scene to grow his style. Lyrically, Kelly looks to bands such as Disciple, Dashboard Confessional, Blindside, UnderOath, Chevelle, Falling Up, and Family Force 5 for inspiration. Music has always been the centerpiece in his life. Singing since he could talk and playing since he could wrap his hands around an instrument has led him to believe that his life would be grossly incomplete if he wasn't making music to bring people to God. When asked what he would do if he didn't play music, Kelly answered, "That's a really hard question. This is like asking the Pope what he'd do if he didn't believe in God. I honestly have no answer for that." With Echelon High, Kelly strives to create art that is both attractive to the listener and to God. Watered down gospel will not be found on their albums, nor will the remaking of a remaking of a remake of an old hymn be there. Since the age of 15, when Kelly began his walk with God, he has desired to produce a style that is nothing you've ever experienced.
